KLUDI: Market share of about 17% by value, on the batteries segment

Kludi Romania has registered a steady increase in terms of turnover from 2010 till present time. In the first quarter of 2013 outstanding results were reported for local businesses (sales increased by 35% compared to the same period of the last year). In the first three months of the current year the company has achieved shipments of over 1.93 million RON, compared to 1.43 million RON, as recorded in the same period of 2012. In 2010, the local subsidiary communicated a revenue increase of 37% over 2009, the total results exceeding 6.3 million RON. In 2011, the business has grown with 13%, compared with the previous reporting period, and the sales reached almost 7.2 million RON. The growth rate maintained at the same rate also in 2012 when the turnover was about 8.08 million RON. In what concerns the local branch of sanitary fittings, competitors promoting high-performance systems had, in 2012, a market share of only 21% (in terms of quantity), the German companies providing about 14% of all deliveries of this kind of products. The available analysis indicates that, in Romania, the annual value of faucets sales sums up approximately 16 million EUR (600,000 units). According to Kludi experts, these levels are in a slow decline - about 4% - compared to 2011. In what concerns the segment of showers and the related systems, the aggregated market value stands at 3.7 million EUR. The sales are increasing in terms of quantity, with over 20%, but a decrease in average sales value per unit is recorded. Considering all these facts, the industry registered a growth of about 8% in 2012. Kludi representatives estimate that, in the previous year, the company had a market share of 3.5% by volume and 17% by value on batteries segment, respectively 4% and 19% in the shower sector. The Romanian market of premium faucets continues to evolve, more and more local beneficiaries opting for solutions with high value, which are more expensive, but have a certain reliability.
